BEC口語：升職感言

　　Thank you, Mr. Gibson. It's a great honor to befollowing in your footsteps as Overseas SalesManager.

　　To be honest, this promotion came as quite asurprise. I'd like to think it's mainly a recognition ofthe teamwork, above and beyond the call of duty, inmy department.

　　On that same note, I'd like to thank all my colleaguesin the company for their enthusiasm and hard work.Due to their efforts, we've really gotten some overseas projects off the ground for Action.

　　Looking to the future, I'd still like to maintain contact with everyone, even though I'll beworking at the senior level. Well, what I'm trying to say is I won't let this step-up go to myhead. My door will always be open. Thank you again.

　　要對提拔你的人致謝;"It's a great honor (privilege) to …"是個很好的句型，"to"后面就接讓你感到榮幸的事。

　　1. To be honest, this promotion came as quite a surprise.

　　2. Truthfully, this promotion came as quite a surprise.

　　3. In all honesty, it was quite a surprise for me to get this promotion.

　　本段重點在于表示自己完全未曾預期升遷的謙虛心理。"to be honest"、"truthfully"或"in all honesty"是強調你說的'都是'真心話'。"quite a surprise"，則是說'十分令人意外的驚喜'。

　　1. On that same note, I'd like to thank all my colleagues in the company for their enthusiasmand hard work.

　　由于在上段已感謝過上司及部門同仁，想再向其它同事致謝時，可用"on that same note"承接這個表示相同感謝的句子，并引導下文。"note"在此是指「口氣、特點」，"on the same note"等于"similarly"或"also"。

　　1. Well, what I'm trying to say is I won't let this step-up go to my head.

　　2. I mean I won't let this promotion change me.

　　3. To put it another way, I won't let this promotion go to my head.

　　最后一段應再度表示自己的謙虛與對未來的承諾：決不因而自傲。"What I'm trying to say…"是一種強調口氣的說法。
