富二代是指繼承巨額財產的富豪子女。他們繼承的財產包括房屋及現金，且財產中房屋的市場價值與擁有的現金總額相加一般都在一千萬元人民幣以上，也就是我們所謂的“千萬家財”。繼承了千萬家財的富家子女才算是富二代。
富二代有知識成功型、艱苦奮斗型，這兩類在富二代中是主體，也有紈绔子弟敗家型，也有一小部分最后較為平庸。有專家認為富人的財富應有部分捐獻給社會而不是全部繼承給子女，否則容易導致社會貧富分化加劇，不利于社會的穩定與經濟的發展;但是財富不在一定規則下傳承就很難出現中國本土的貴族。
