春節(jié)，即農(nóng)歷新年，俗稱(chēng)過(guò)年，一般指除夕和正月初一。但在民間，傳統(tǒng)意義上的春節(jié)是指從臘月初八的臘祭或臘月二十三或二十四的祭灶，一直到正月十五，其中以除夕和正月初一為高潮。春節(jié)歷史悠久，起源于殷商時(shí)期年頭歲尾的祭神祭祖活動(dòng)。在春節(jié)期間，中國(guó)的漢族和很多少數(shù)民族都要舉行各種活動(dòng)以示慶祝。這些活動(dòng)均以祭祀神佛、祭奠祖先、除舊布新、迎禧接福、祈求豐年為主要內(nèi)容。活動(dòng)豐富多彩，帶有濃郁的民族特色。

To the ordinary Chinese, the festival actually begins on the eve of the lunar New Year's Day and ends on the fifth day of the first month of the lunar calendar. But the 15th of the first month, which normally is called the Lantern Festival, means the official end of the Spring Festival in many parts of the country. 2
Spring Festival is the most importantand popular festival in China.Before Spring Festival ,the people usually clean and decorate their houses.And they go to the Flower Fairs to buy some flowers.During Spring Festival ,the adults usually give lucky money to children.People often get together and have a big meal.Some people eat dumpling for dinner.

對(duì)于黃皮膚的中國(guó)人來(lái)說(shuō)，這個(gè)解釋實(shí)際是始于春節(jié)的前夕結(jié)束于第一個(gè)月圓之日的15。而第一個(gè)月圓之夜一般情況下被稱(chēng)作元宵節(jié)，意味春節(jié)在全國(guó)大部分地區(qū)的官方節(jié)日時(shí)間上結(jié)束。
春節(jié)在中國(guó)是最重要最流行的節(jié)日。很久以前，過(guò)春節(jié)時(shí)，人們常常需要整理打掃房間。并且去花市買(mǎi)些鮮花。春節(jié)期間，成年人常常要給小子壓歲錢(qián)。人們常要在一起聚餐，有些人午夜還會(huì)吃餃子。

春節(jié)是漢族最重要的節(jié)日。春節(jié)的歷史很悠久。節(jié)前就在門(mén)臉上貼上紅紙黃字的寓意的新年寄語(yǔ)及財(cái)神像和掛大紅燈籠等. 春節(jié)是個(gè)親人團(tuán)聚的節(jié)日。離家的孩子不遠(yuǎn)千里回到家里。家人圍坐在一起包餃子,用餃子象征團(tuán)聚。正月初一前有祭灶等儀式;節(jié)中有給兒童壓歲錢(qián)、親朋好友拜年等。
