　　另一顏色的馬

　　中國人很早就懂得賽馬。戰國時，齊將田忌聽孫臏指點，以下等馬賽齊王的上等馬，再以上等馬賽他的中等馬，中等馬賽他的下等馬，結果是彼此用的馬匹雖然同樣分三等，田忌卻輕而易舉以兩勝一負成績贏了千金賭注(《史記.孫子吳起列傅》)。

　　西方人當然也喜歡賽馬。據說，古時西方賽馬為求容易辨認，騎士會騎不同顏色的馬。把賭注押在某一名騎士身上的人，當然不希望“另一顏色的馬(horse of a different colour / horse of another colour)”取勝�，F在，賽馬一般不會計較馬的顏色了，但horse of a differen tcolour這成語依然廣泛流傳，只是意思變了，解作“完全另一回事”。

　　例如∶I thought you would help. If I am to do it all by myself, that is a horse of another colour.

　　(我本來以為你會幫忙;假如要我獨力去做，那就完全是另一回事了。)
