Listen to the tape then answer this question.What is Carol not going to buy?

Tom: What are you doing, Carol?
湯 姆：卡羅爾，你在干什么?
Carol: I’m making a shopping-list, Tom.
卡羅爾：我在寫購物單，湯姆。
Tom: What do we need?
湯 姆：我們都需要什么?
Carol: We need a lot of things this week.
卡羅爾：這星期我們需要很多東西。
Carol: I must go to the grocer’s. We haven’t got much tea or coffee, and we haven’t got any sugar or jam.
卡羅爾：我得去一下食品店。我們的茶葉和咖啡不多了，糖和果醬也沒有了。
Tom: What about vegetables?
湯 姆：蔬菜呢?
Carol: I must go to the greengrocer’s. We haven’t got many tomatoes, but we’ve got a lot of potatoes.

Carol: I must go to the butcher’s, too. We need some meat. We haven’t got any meat at all.

Carol: No, we haven’t. And I’m not going to get any!

Notes on the text課文注釋
1 make a shopping list,寫一張采購物品的單子。
2 a lot of 當“許多”講:既可用在可數(shù)名詞前，又能用在不可數(shù)名詞前，一般用于肯定句。
3 We haven't got any meat at all.我們一點肉也沒有了。
at all這個詞組用在否定句中，表示“絲毫”、“一點’、“根本”的'意思，有強調(diào)作用。
have got與have(’‘有”)同義。
4 many和much均可譯成“許多”，但用法不同:many主要用于疑問句和否定句中，放在可數(shù)名詞之前.如many tomatoes; much用于疑問句和否定句中，放在不可數(shù)名詞之前，如much tea, much money。

這里get表示"買"，與buy同義：
I'll get a new bike for you.

must與 need
(1)must 表示"必須"、"應(yīng)當"：
I must go to the grocer's.
我得去趟雜貨店。
You mustn't make a noise!
你不該弄出噪音來!
Must I call the doctor?
我必須請大夫嗎?
(2)need表示"需要"、"必須"。作助動詞時多用于疑問句和否定句，如：
Need I make an appointment?
我需要約一下時間嗎?
You need not hurry.
你不必太匆忙。
need也可作實義動詞，這時就要有人稱、數(shù)及時態(tài)上的變化，疑問句中也需用助動詞 do。如：
We need a lot of things this week.
我們這周需要許多東西。
He needs some money.
他需要一些錢。
Do you need any sugar?
你需要一些糖嗎?
What do they need this week?
他們這周需要什么東西?

(2)n. 希望，期望;指望：
We are full of hope for the future.

(3)n. 期望著的事;被寄予希望的人：
His hope is that his son will get married and settle down soon.

He is a young man of genius, the hope of Russian poetry.

2.need
(1)v. 需要：
We need some honey.
我們需要些蜂蜜。
Do you need any help?
你需要幫忙嗎?
Does he need to know?
他需要知道嗎?
(2)n. 需要(物);必要：
There is no need of worrying.
不必擔心。
There's a growing need of new housing in many cities.
許多城市正面臨著對新建房屋的`不斷增長的需求。
We don't have any urgent need for money.
我們并不急需錢。
